Itinerary

Day 1: Barcelona > Istanbul > Samarkand

Arrive 3 hours before departure at Barcelona airport. Departure on the Turkish flight to Samarkand via Istanbul. Noche a bordo.

Day 2: Arrival in Samarkand

Arrival at Samarkand airport. Customs formalities, baggage collection and assistance. Transfer to the hotel (immediate delivery of rooms and accommodation at the hotel). Breakfast at the hotel. Start of sightseeing tour of the city:

  • Registan Square: Ulughbek Madrasa (15th c.), Shir-Dor Madrasa (17th c.), Tilla-Kori Madrasa (17th c.)
  • Guri Emir Mausoleum (tomb of Tamerlane, 14th-15th c.)
  • Rukhabad Mausoleum (exterior visit, 14th c.)

Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue with the visits.

  • Shakhi-Zinda Architectural Complex (9th-15th c.)
  • Ulughbek Observatory (15th c.)

Dinner in a local restaurant and accommodation.

Day 3: Samarkand

Breakfast. We will continue our sightseeing tour of the city.

  • Old paper production factory
  • Afrasiab Ancient City Museum

Lunch at a local restaurant. We continue to finish the visits of the city

  • Bibi-Khonum Mosque (15th c.)
  • Siab Bazaar

Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Samarkand > Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station to take the train to Bukhara (according to the train timetable). Arrival in Bukhara.

Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, start sightseeing in the holy city of Bukhara:

  • Magoki Attory Mosque (12th c.)
  • Ulughbek Madrasa (15th c.)
  • Abdulaziz-Khan Madrasa (c. XVII)

Day 5: Bukhara

Breakfast. Start of city tours.

  • Mausoleum of Samanidas (9th-10th c.)
  • Chasmai Ayub Mausoleum and Sacred Spring (14th c.)
  • Bolo-Hauz Mosque (19th c.) outside visit
  • Ark Citadel (5th-19th c.) is the oldest structure in the city and was the residence of the emirs of Bukhara.

Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue with the visits.

  • Kalon Minaret (exterior visit) & Poi Kalon Mosque (12th-15th c.)
  • Madrasa Miri Arab (15th c., external visit)
  • Three markets: this 16th-century complex of domes known as the First, Second and Third Domes are vaulted enclosures to which were attached a large number of galleries for trade and craft workshops.

Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 6: Bukhara

Breakfast. Departure to the activity that will take us the whole day. We will enjoy an unforgettable experience, in the morning we leave Bukhara (30 km away), to a village, where a local family lives and where we can spend a day, helping with the daily things, and learning the national cuisine.

On arrival we meet the Uzbek family, we have tea with oriental sweets, it is an oriental tradition to welcome guests at the table with hot tea, in Uzbek it is called ‘dastarkhon’.

Afterwards, with the women of the house we can learn how Uzbek bread ‘LEPESHKA’ is made:

The daily menu of people in Uzbekistan is always supposed to include this gastronomic wonder – hot tandyr bread, in common language it is called lepyoshkas which are unique in their taste, nutritional qualities and are really never cloying. Having tasted this bread once, you will definitely love it.

Learn how they cook the national food ‘PLOV’:

We will end the day at the Lyabi Hauz complex (16th-17th c.), the heart of the city, which includes Madrasa Kukeldash and Madrasa Nodir Devon Begi, built around the city’s largest pond.

Day 7: Bukhara > Khiva

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Khiva by road (450 km, 7-8 h)*.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 8: Khiva

Breakfast. At the indicated time, start of the city tour:

Visit to the Ichan-Kala Architectural Complex (12th-19th c., UNESCO):

  • Kalta Minor Minaret
  • Mohamed Amin Khan Madrasa (converted into the hotel)
  • Castillo Kunya Ark
  • Madrasa Mohammed Rakhim Khan

Lunch at a local restaurant. The visit continues with the Ichan-Kala Architectural Complex (12th-19th century).

  • Minaret (outside visit) and Madrasa Islom Khodja
  • Juma Mosque
  • Tash Hovli Architectural Complex (harem)
  • Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum (patron of the city)
  • Madrasa y Caravansei Allakulli Khan

Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 9 – Khiva > Urgench > Tashkent

Breakfast. Transfer to Urgench domestic airport 30 km from Khiva for flight to Tashkent (according to flight schedule). Arrival.

We will start our tour of the city in the old part of the city, visiting:

  • Terromoto Monument
  • Hasti Imam Architectural Complex, including Barak Khan Madrasa, Kafal Shohi Madrasa, Tilla Sheykh Mosque and ‘Qur’an of Usman’ Museum (7th c.).
  • Chorsu Bazaar

Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue with the visit of the modern part of the city.

  • Independence Square and Eternity
  • Romanov Palace (19th c., exterior visit)
  • Opera and Ballet Square
  • Amir Temur Square
  • City metro.

Day 10: Tashkent > Kokand > Fergana

Breakfast. Early departure to the railway station to catch the train to Kokand, arrival in Kokand at noon.

In Kokand we will visit the Palace of Khudayar Khan, ‘Tomb of the Kings’ – Mausoleum of Dahma-i-Shakhon, Mausoleum of Modari Khan, Madrasa of Narboutabek, Djoumi Mosque.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Rishtan (45 km), another town in the area famous for its pottery. Continue to Fergana (60 km). Arrival and overnight at the hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 11: Fergana > Margilan > Tashkent

Breakfast. Check out. Departure to Margilan (10 km), where we will visit the famous Silk factory, where you can observe the whole process of silk transformation. We will also visit the Madrasa of Said Ahmad Hadia. Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Taskhent (350 km, 4-5 h). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 12: Tashkent > Barcelona

Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Barcelona via Istanbul. Arrival in Barcelona and end of our services.
